International consultancy experience for Business Creation
As a consultant for Business Creation he gained international experience in developing sustainable solutions in factory closures. His job was to come up with creative solutions and business plans to preserve jobs, revitalize the real estate & technology. Giving him a unique opportunity to broaden his horizons by working on projects in almost every Western European country (Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, UK, Netherlands) for numerous multinational clients in various industries like LG Philips, SONY, General Motors, Numico, Alcatel within a short period of time.
Social entrepreneurship
Starting in 2004 he decided (again) to follow his heart and ambition to deliver a positive contribution to society with a strong believe to support social entrepreneurship. Since then he has been involved in many social entrepreneurial activities and had the opportunity to gain experience and expand his network. Amongst other things he was involved in the start up of a Social Venture Capital Fund (SOVEC) to invest in entrepreneurs in Ghana. In 2006 Jop became the Director of EsteamWork specialized in linking the private sector with development work. For EsteamWork he managed many public private partnerships, guided numerous learning journeys to Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Madagascar, South Africa, Tanzania) and he advised many companies (Red Bull, Berenschot, NautaDutilh, Hagemeyer, Ordina, Telengy Vrom) and NGOs (Red Cross, UN Volunteers, Hivos, NCDO) on their CSR and private sector partnership strategies. A unique journey to meet different people, organisations, cultures and managing to deliver a contribution to socio-economic development.
Behold social entrepreneurship
With Behold Social Entrepreneurship (www.behold.nl) we constantly develops and invest in social enterprises with the ambition to set up an international movement of social entrepreneurship. He is currently internationalizing his organisation, supporting Hivos to strengthen their cooperation with the private sector, developing a CSR & fair trade merchandise programme for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa, and involved in the start up of a number of social entrepreneurial ventures like the Tap project (www.tapproject.nl) to engage the worldwide network of 500.000 AIESEC Alumni to deliver a contribution to the MDGs.
